Sugar cookie dessert

I never do much of any kind of dessert, but I made one for a surprise for Luke. I took a spring form pan and put sugar cookie dough at the bottom of it. I then took cream cheese and beat it with sugar. I spreaded the cream cheese mixture over the cookie dough. I topped it with fruit and bravo!! Was fantastic!

Grilled Vegetable Soup

So there wasn’t much food in the house, so I made soup. I took an onion, mushrooms, and potatoes and grilled them. I also grilled some chicken. I then cooked some bow tie pasta and threw it into a pot which had chicken stock in it. Then I took everything off the grill and cut it down into bit sized pieces. I added everything into the stock with some tomato sauce and cooked it down. It was so good and hardy!!!

Stir-Fry Attempt #1

Today I made, well attempted to do stir fry. I have never made stir fry so I winged it. I took mushrooms and carrots and cooked them down. I added cabbage and then steamed it by adding a lid to the pot. After I did that, I added some cooked pasta to the pan. I then added salt and pepper but didn’t know what to put next.

Turkey Testing

A few days ago I decided to try and win a $10,000 scholarship from the Culinary Institute of America. To win the student must incorporate leftover turkey (like from thanks giving) and create it into a fun delicious dish. I tried four different recipes but only two came out the best. I made turkey pizza with onions and mushrooms, but that didn’t blow my mind to be worth $10,000. So then I tried a turkey and cheese ravioli and that wasn’t so great either. But then I tried Asian styled food, which I’ve never done before. I did pot stickers and egg rolls with a sauce to go with them! The egg rolls are definitely the best and are delicious! I couldn’t have done it without the help of my taste testers:

Food Party

I had a great party where we served a five course meal! I can't believe I could actually do it! Now I feel as though I can accomplish anything! Here is a list of each course!
1: Caesar salad with homemade croutons and grilled chicken.
2: Pasta with spinach, tomato and mozzarella cheese.
3: Corn, tomato, and onion salad under mozzarella and tomato stuffed chicken.
4: Home made cheese ravioli and stuffed mushroom caps.
5: Brownies frozen with ice cream and whipped cream on them.
Thanks to all who came! Thanks for allowing me to do this! I hope that your experience was as great as mine was! Also big thanks to my family! Thanks Marisa, Dina, Joe, and Jordan for helping me out with the cooking and just letting me throw the party!

Baby Back Ribs

Today I made baby back ribs. They were awesome. I searched food network for the best ways to cook ribs and I chose one recipe. I put a dry rub on the ribs and let them sit for twenty minutes. Then I baked them at 350 degrees for about an hour. I put barbeque sauce on them. I then put foil on top of them to let them steam for about 30 minutes in the oven. I put more barbeque sauce on the ribs after I took them out of the oven. I took the ribs and put them on the grill for about 5 minutes each side. I took them off and cut them into single rib pieces. I heard nothing but positive things about these ribs.

Cheesey tomato sauce

I made a wonderful cheese sauce with itailian cheeses. I simply added tomatoes, butter, basil, garlic, and onion. It was so good, especially after i baked it for about 5 minutes! Yum!

Vegtables

After school one day I made something so simple and so wonderful. Just sauteed vegtables and toped them with cheese. Just some onion, aparigus, and squach. So delishious and simple. Just some oil in the pan then sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic until softened. Sprinkle with some cheese and it is wonderful

Kabobs

So my computer, I believe officially has given up on uploading pictures up to this site. But I will continue to post and try to edit and upload later. I made chicken and vegetable kabobs. I would in most cases grill these, but my grill broke. So I baked them a broiled them. I cooked asparagus, potato, onion, and chicken. I wish I had some mushrooms as well. Even though they didn't work on the grill I have had them on the grill and it is fantastic. It's so simple just some olive oil, slat, pepper, and garlic-pure bliss! I highly recommend doing these!

Mushroom Caps

These are my favorite things to make and I don't know why I haven't posted them yet! You get any type of mushroom caps and then pull out the stem, so there is a whole to put the filling into. You take a small onion and dice it up very finely so it is the same size of the garlic which you also dice finely. Then you take the stems you pulled out and cut the gross ends off. Then you dice the stem to match the size of the onion and garlic. Then you take some parmesan cheese and mix it with the cut up mixture. Give that a tad of olive oil so it sticks together and mold it into the caps. Put them in the oven for about 20 min or until cheese is melted.

Pizza!

I made both deep dish and thin crust pizza.I used an instant dough for the crust but I made my own sauce with tomatos, onions, garlic, basil, and other seasonings. I just made cheese pizza but you could make it with any topping. I put olive oil on the crust so that i could have a garlic seasoned crust. On the thin crust, I stuffed the crust with cheese! It is absolutely delishious!

Oven Parmesan Chicken

I made almost like a spaghetti meat sauce but with chicken instead of beef. First i cooked the chicken with garlic, onion, and seasonings. I made homemade sauce and mixed in with the chicken into a baking pan. I covered the chicken and sauce with lots of mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. I baked it for about 20 minutes- when the sauce was hot and the cheese was melted. I cooked pasta and just poured a couple of spoonfuls of the baked chicken over the pasta. I used it also as a sauce.I would upload pictures but my computer wants to be difficult :(.

Super Bowl Dip :)

This was one of the first dips I've ever made. It is a spinich artichoke dip with panchetta which is a form of bacon. So Delicious and full of flavor! It was so rich and creamy-good for any occasion. Good both cold or hot. First you roast garlic in the oven, just until it is warm and cooked down to a pulp. Then you cook the panchetta and wilt the spinach. You then mix the cream cheese with the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese! Bake for 20 minutes! Yum!!!

Home made Ravioli

I was watching food network and saw this recipe! Yum! It was as good as it looked! It had a three cheese filling and a Delicious sauce that was salty and very satisfying!!!! Just make sure you have a pasta machine because the dough I made was just a little thick. I would definitely make this again!

Cheese testing

Today I had lots of extra time in my day, so I decided to try out cheese recipes for a competition I want to enter. So I made three pasta dishes and two chicken dishes that all Incorporated cheese. First I made a spinach artichoke pasta which tasted just like the dip. Then I made a spinach Alfredo sauce to go with more pasta. I also created a mac n' cheese sauce to go over more pasta. After I created all of these I topped them with the cheeses which are in the sauces and baked them for about thirty minutes. I then took six chicken breasts and cut them in half vertically, making twelve total. Then i cut them in half horizontally so that I could stuff them. In six of the chickens i stuffed with mozzarella and tomatoes. It was to die for! Then we had six other chickens that I stuffed with a Mexican cheese blend(which is a lot like monetary jack cheese)and also wrapped them in bacon. I cooked these for also thirty minutes until perfectly cooked:).
